2.2 Acres on the outskirts of
Les Cayes, Haiti
We desire for this campus to be a safe place to encounter Jesus as not only our Sovereign Lord, but as a Friend, Father and King that commissions us to the Lost.
In April of 2013 the Lord spoke to us (Vanessa and Tyler Emmorey) about starting a Youth With A Mission campus in Les Cayes, Haiti. We walked the 2.2 acre property that we now own and felt the Lord's presence, but the seller wanted around $60,000 USD for the land. So we moved on preparing to start a base with out purchasing the land.
We moved to the Dominican Republic where we lived and worked with YWAM to be better equipped for pioneering a ministry. We took various training courses with Youth With A Mission Orlando from 2015-2017. In the Winter of 2017 we led an 8 week trip to Les Cayes, Haiti. We got to see that same land again, almost 4 years later. Hurricane Matthew had taken out a lot of trees on the property and the owner was still looking to sell but for $15,000 USD. We prayed with our team and they felt the Lord leading us to pursue purchasing the property, but wait and the Lord will reveal the right time to pursue donors to buy the land. Six weeks went by and then the Lord said, "It's time to allow people to partner in your dream." Within the first hour of asking for the money we had over half the amount needed to purchase the land! In June 2017 we purchased the land that we are now building to be a launching pad for Haitians to go to the nations.
Our mission is to provide transformational discipleship to Haitians and train them to go to the nations. Gaining funding for Haitian missionaries is quite difficult though, so the Lord directed us to start teaching trade skills along with our Discipleship Training School. Haitians could then learn a skill to provide for their family and take to the nations as a missionary. We believe this holistic approach will enable more Haitians to be mobilized into world missions.
Right now we are in the process of constructing our very first building, which is crucial for us to start running the Discipleship Training School.
Below are architectural mockups of the current campus blueprint.
